This has always been my motto in life. I do not judge. Just discern how kind a person treats others around them. If they are cruel or mean in the things they say of others, you know that they will do it to you as well. Easy way to figure out who to keep close and who to set free to live a wonderful life without you around. It gets rid of the need for being cruel or angry or judgmental. Is a wonderful tool, and I have learned to use it well.
The flip side of this is that there are angry people, who NEED to harm or put others down in order to make their egos feel better. They need to harm, and the more you ignore them, the more cruel they become. They frustrate themselves in the trying and in the end I often wonder what it is they feel they have accomplished?
As you live your life courageously and facing all that life has put in front of you to overcome, you learn who the truly amazing people of this world are, and you see who the needy, and cruel are.
I am blessed with the acquaintance of many incredible souls.
Because I have come so far in life on my own and not forcing relationships that are not right, not pushing people to HAVE to remember this day or that to be graced with the love inside. Because I do not allow others to verbally abuse a kind soul in my presence and will always stand up and make them take account, I don't win the superficial love of all around me. On the contrary it is few and far between who can see the kindness I show.
My life has taught me to be thankful for cruel people. These people teach you lessons about human nature. The nasty sides of it exist and do not kid yourself, they exist in us all, even you reading this. The key to overcoming this is to accept the cruelty as a lesson, move on and let the angry be angry, the cruel be cruel, the sad, sad. What you have to realize is that you see these things in others because they exist within you. When you see something "negative" about another, know that you would not be able to see it if it did not exist within. Then search within, find it, heal it and let it go.
So to all who are cruel and wish failure on others, know that in a strange way you are teaching. But know also that those around you can see what you are doing, and you may be accepted into a kind conversation, or befriended, but you will never truly know love until you show it without having to harm or put down others.
